Optional reflections

A busy day can still feel hard to account for.
You spent time on the project. But what changed? Where did you get stuck? And what will you try next?
Getting started feels big.
There’s a lot to do, and it’s not always clear where to begin.
It’s easy to lose sight of direction.
You can be busy, but still feel unsure if you’re moving forward.
Small steps are easy to forget.
You make progress, but the details often fade over time.
How it works
A simple rhythm for work that matters to you.
- 1
Choose one step.
Pick a task from your projects. Keep it clear and manageable.
- 2
Give it your attention.
Start a focused session. Work on the step in front of you for a set amount of time.
- 3
Reflect, then continue.
Capture a quick reflection on what happened. Use what you learn to choose your next step.

Reflection
A moment to step back can change what comes next.
Keep a short reflection beside the task it belongs to. What worked? What got in the way? What would you change next time?
A few words when they’re useful. Nothing to fill in when they’re not.
Your progress
See the time you’ve
already put in.
Look back across sessions and projects. See how small pieces of work have added up, even when the bigger goal is still taking shape.
Your past effort, without a daily quota.

From visual exploration to a simpler prototype.
Prepare the building blocks.
Explore the visual style, refine screens, and check assets.
Test the interactions.
Review the prototype and decide what to simplify.
The interactions work, but the prototype is more complex than I need. Keep this version simple and implement the existing Figma design.

The maker
Why I built FocusFlow.
I built FocusFlow to give myself a moment to step back: what happened, where did I get stuck, and what should I try next?
Over time, I wanted those small sessions to become something I could look back on — a way to see how the work was taking shape, and find a little encouragement to continue.

FAQ
Questions?
A few things to know.
How is this different from a basic timer?
Each session belongs to a project and can hold a goal and an optional reflection. Return to your records and see your cumulative focus time, so the work stays connected to what you’re building.
Do I have to write a reflection?
No. Reflections are optional. Leave a few words when they help you understand what happened or decide what to try next. Skip them when they don’t.
Can I change the session length?
Yes. Choose the focus duration that suits the task. You can also adjust the time set aside for reflection.
Do I need an account?
Yes. FocusFlow uses an account to save and load your projects and session records.
Can I use it offline?
The current version needs an internet connection to load and save your work.
How much will it cost?
The first public version will be free. The Mac download is being prepared and is not available yet.
